How to Pack a Shisha Bowl for Big Clouds
Packing is the skill that separates a great bowl from a harsh one. Here's the technique for smooth, cloudy sessions.
Fluffy vs dense
A fluffy pack (loose, airy, just below the rim) suits most blonde-leaf tobaccos like Al Fakher and Adalya — great airflow, easy heat. A dense pack suits strong dark-leaf brands (Tangiers) and needs more heat. Beginners: go fluffy.
The technique
Sprinkle the shisha in, don't press it, and keep it just below the rim so it doesn't touch the foil or device. Wipe the rim, then start with the coals near the edge and move them in as it heats.
