How to Mix Shisha Flavours: Combinations That Work
Half the fun of shisha is the mix. Combining two or three flavours lets you dial in exactly the taste you want — brighter, cooler, sweeter. Here's how to think about mixing, plus combinations that reliably work.
The basic rule
Most great mixes pair a base (a fruit or a classic like double apple) with a modifier (mint, citrus or cream). Start 70/30 in favour of the base, then adjust. Two flavours are plenty when you're learning — three can get muddy.
Combinations that work
Mint + any fruit (watermelon-mint, grape-mint) for a cool, refreshing draw. Apple + mint ("AA mint") — the all-time classic. Lemon + mint for a sharp, palate-cleansing session. Blueberry + mint, or blueberry + raspberry, for a sweet-tart mix. Add a touch of vanilla or cream to round off any fruit blend.
Tips
Layer, don't just dump: mix in a bowl and stir so the flavours pack evenly. If a mix tastes flat, add a little mint or citrus to lift it. Ask your lounge for their house mix — the good ones have a signature.
